Daniela Timoc is a dynamic catering supervisor at one of our Dublin restaurants. She has been an integral part of the team since 2013. Her journey from a part-time barista to a fully-fledged supervisor is a testament to her dedication, passion, and expertise in the hospitality industry.

A Transformative Journey

Daniela’s career at FoodSpace began in 2013 when she took on the role of a part-time barista. Her remarkable skill set and commitment to her job quickly earned her a full-time position within just a month. By 2023, Daniela’s hard work was recognised, leading to her promotion to catering supervisor. “I am good at what I do, so I received the promotion,” she proudly shares.

A Day in the Life of Daniela

Daniela’s day starts bright and early at 7 AM. Her responsibilities begin with opening the coffee shop, preparing for the day, and setting up the restaurant. “I open the restaurant, turn on the lights, and set up for the day to start,” Daniela explains. Her primary focus is on the coffee shop, where she prepares and serves coffee to the morning rush of customers. As lunchtime approaches, Daniela and the team gear up to serve deli sandwiches, ensuring every customer is satisfied with their meal.

Her role doesn’t stop at serving food and beverages. Daniela is involved in managing staff hours, printing menus, and ensuring all allergen information is accurately communicated. “I go into the kitchen to the chefs and ask them for allergens for the day,” she notes. Her attention to detail ensures that everything runs smoothly throughout the day.

Family and Friends Down Time

After a busy day at work, Daniela unwinds by going shopping and enjoying a nice hot dinner at home. Weekends are reserved for relaxing walks in the park with her husband, coffee outings, and spa visits with her friends.

Daniela notes that she draws inspiration from her husband, who motivates her to bring excellence to her work every day. “I always wanted to bring something good to the table, so this motivates my work every day to be better,” she says.

Daniela’s Biggest Achievements

Working at FoodSpace has equipped Daniela with numerous valuable skills. From mastering the art of coffee making to effective team communication and organisation, Daniela has gained extensive knowledge that she applies daily. Her most significant achievement is found in her personal life. Daniela proudly mentions opening a Montessori in Romania, which now caters to 126 children and employs 22 staff members. “The start-up was very difficult, but now it is running smoothly, and we are so proud of this achievement and to be able to help the community,” she shares.
