Completing the River Moy Half Marathon on the west coast of Ireland wasn’t enough for our go-getter Grainne. She’s just back from the fresh snow covering on Mont Blanc and an amazing, but challenging 4-day retreat involving -10 degree temperatures, ‘dodgy’ accommodation and hiking and climbing through challenging forest, snow and cliff terrain!
As well as it being a great personal achievement, it was good training for her sea2summit Supreme 56k adventure race that she’s competing in November which includes running, cycling and climbing in Co Mayo and Dublin. Rather her than the rest of us!
It’s often the case that you never stop working and one of the best things about her recent trek? She met some fantastic people and even recruited our new head chef at NUI, Galway – Anthony Healy – after a conversation at 3500m altitude! Good work Grainne!
